[ Bakugo has had a rough time after the situation on the streets, where he was caught by that sludge villain. Having only been saved because Deku stepped in to try to save him. All that was in the past now, at least, he tried to bury it there. Leave his feelings regarding that moment alone, even if his ego was severely wounded.
As it was months before, and summer was nearing its end. It was easier to move past it, especially because he just got his acceptance letter and finished watching his video regarding being able to go to U.A. His mother and father were congratulatory about it, his mother, perhaps a little less so, and hard on him regarding expectations. It didn't matter though, ultimately, to Katsuki Bakugo - he was going to be the number one hero.
Now he had to bounce off to remind a certain someone about this.
The damn normie next door, who swears up and down that Bakugo will never be a hero. Bad on her, when Bakugo is ready and rearing to show off he is that much closer to what he had always told her as a kid. Meaning, he was right and she is totally wrong. Eager to show it off and ready to rub it in her face. Bakugo is hopping over the fence and, shortly after, rolling his sleeves up. Holding the acceptance letter within his mouth and quickly using his quirk to blast himself up into the air. Climbing onto her roof - not wanting to deal with the front door.
He just. Slams into the window a few times, knocking on it. ]
[ If only Kishinami Hakuno could ignore him. If only she could pretend she did not exist and fade away into the background like the NPC that she is, but sadly, life does not work like that. Heaving a deep breath, Hakuno pulled herself away from her desk and pulled the curtain to see Bakugo because who else would be at her window? ]
... ... ...
[ There was a bit of a staredown before Hakuno opened the window and returned to her bed. Legs crossed, arms crossed as she stared at Bakugo, who was now invading her room. ]
What do you want, Bakugo? Is it that important that you need to go through my window?
[ Bakugo immediately slouches into her room, with his waist pressed against the window sill and a piece of paper neatly folded between his two fingers. He shows it off up to her and looks over as she sits down. Hanging out there... With his ass out the window. ]
Yeah, absolutely, a normie like you better be impressed because you're looking at the first person in this neighborhood going to U.A. And you said I couldn't be a hero, HUH? Look now, stupid, because I'm about to pave my way to the top!
[ So impressive. Look at the excitement on her face. So happy for you! ]
Wow, they take in anybody nowadays, don't they? Good for you, Bakugo. I guess starting in spring, we won't be seeing each other since we're going to different schools. This normie will enjoy her high school youth.
SHUT UP THEY DON'T JUST TAKE ANYONE, YOU COULDN'T GET IN COULD YOU? NOT EVEN IF YOU TRIED? NOT EVEN IF THAT GOLD FREAK TRIED PAYING YOUR WAY IN!!! [ Bakugo is loud and rowdy, slapping the sides of her windowsill as he swings his super important acceptance letter around as he hangs in the window. ]
YOU'RE GOING TO REGRET ALWAYS BEING A DUMB JEALOUS BITCH ABOUT ME BEING BETTER THAN YOU AT EVERYTHING! YOU CAN'T EVEN PLAY GAMES, RIGHT??
[ Don't make her push you out that window to end the conversation right there. ]
Wow, as if there is anything to be jealous about. [ Deadpan. Monotone. Sarcastic. ] Of course, they won't accept me. I'm weak, quirkless, and useless like you say that I am—a complete normie.
[ Hakuno then pointed at Bakugo. ]
When was the last time you even played a game with me?
Playing with you is stupid because you don't even play well. [ He admits quickly and defensively. ] At least you know your place; that's about the only thing you have going for you.
Yup, now if that's all you have to say to me. [ Hakuno stood up from her bed before Bakugo. She grabbed his wrists, pulled them up, and gave Bakugo a firm push out of her window. ] You're causing noise pollution in my space.
You can't just tell me to leave??? [ He apparently decided this, its fine, now he is crawling into the room. More like falling but, he will deftly roll onto his feet with style when he gets in. ]
Your stupid gold freak told me to cook for your ass and my damn old woman said that I would - AND I DONT NEED HIM SHOWING UP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT PISSING ME OFF!
No. [ Stopped and said angrily, as he was about to open the door. ] There you go, fucking hamburger, and mushroom with cheese... I'll have to see what we have in the cabinents, I told the Gold dip shit to buy food this week.
You know that Gil won't buy anything food-wise as long as we have Archer.
[ As long as their Mother was here, everything will be stocked up. Sadly, though, Mom wasn't here in town for a bit and had to go back home for a while, so Hakuno now relies on Bakugo's cooking and Gil's money. ]
If we don't have anything, we can go shopping. I have Gil's card. [ The Black One. ]
[ Harlot? What? Who was calling her that? Also, what do you mean she hangs around with too many guys?! How is that her fault? ]
Why do you care if I hang around with guys? They're just friends.
[ The truth said from the 3rd prettiest in class, now and forward. ]
Then do you have money? I can't have you spend your allowance on just groceries for me.
[ Into the kitchen they go, expensive and rich looking. Hakuno followed Bakugo to the fridge, where it was mostly just water, wine, sweets, and other types of liquids. ]
It's just annoying hearing people bitch about it. [ Avoiding the truth that he is constantly telling them to shut the hell up. ] I'll buy it.
[ Said with as much ego and pride as any guy like him would say. At any rate, he enters the kitchen. Eyes falling onto the items within the fridge - nothing... Like always. Annoyance and grumbling comments fall from his lips before he slams it shut. ] Lets... FUCKING, go.
[ Hakuno hasn't heard anything from people, so perhaps Bakugo was exaggerating to get under her skin. She wouldn't be surprised at this point, he has always been trying to get her rile up no apparent reason, as if it was his calling. ]
...Alright.
[ At least it was still early. There should be no worry for any traffic that would come their way.
Out the door, out of the house, Hakuno-chan and Bakugo-kun were not on their little adventure to get ingredients for dinner. ]
Now that I think about it, this is probably the last time you're going to cook for me.
Yeah, probably, in a few weeks, I'll be gone. [ Bakugo comments halfly, with his hands shoved into his pockets, walking on the side of her closet to where the streets are. ] Why, you going to miss me?
[ He jokes with some snobbish attitude but, moves on fairly quickly. ] Don't get too twisted about it, literally, aren't you going to some prestigous school the asshole paid for?
[ Oh, if only Hakuno were a girl whose heart would move at such tiny details and gestures, but alas, her relationship with Bakugo was far beyond boy and girl. They were literally at each other's throats. If their guardians weren't who they are, Hakuno and Bakugo would probably become delinquents.
Still, his words made her question herself.
Would she miss him? She'd finally get a little peace in her life, and this would be the first time they would be separated. ]
...probably. Yeah. I'll miss you. [ Hakuno said nonchantly. As if stating a fact. ] Though you probably won't miss me, aren't you grateful that you're finally getting away from this normie you must take care of?
[ Day by Day. Hakuno speaks like guardians, either Gilgamesh or Archer. Right now, she was speaking like Archer. ]
As for the school, I just passed the exams and got in. If not for that, I would have gone to some random high school nearby. I'm just lucky.
[ Arriving at the train station. Hakuno made a mental note that they shouldn't buy too much stuff. Probably just enough food for tonight's dinner. ]
Would you be okay without me? Are you even going to try to make friends?
[ Bakugo immediately laughs at what she says, and its both an honest warm laugh but one that is full of equal cockiness too. ] Yeah right?
[ Meaning her missing him, not this girl - not miss Hakuno Kishinami who told him he'd never be a hero. ]
I'm going to get bored, that's for sure. [ He shifts, adjusting his jacket so its back on his shoulders and not sliding down them. ] Ehh? I'm going to be the most popular person in class!! What the hell do you think?
[ He is now, of course he will in MHA? (he will not) ]
The ticket reader processed through Hakuno's phone as she walked through the gate. They arrived at the station and waited for the train to take them to the next neighborhood where the supermarket was. ]
Ah, yes, of course, you'll be the most popular. Everybody loves a loudmouth. Most popular, yup. [ Hakuno said in a blank and deadlike monotone voice she could muster. ] Well, knowing you, there's nothing to worry about.
You'll probably make more enemies than friends anyway.
Even better, 'cause I'll make sure they know who's going to gun for the top. [ He means himself, as he follows after Hakuno. Doing the same thing and waiting there for the train as well. ] Knowing you, you'll end up attracting all sorts of freaks again.
Please, I'm begging you. Don't start jinxing me before I even begin the term.
[ It wasn't like Hakuno wanted it. She did nothing to attract those people around her. Plus, it wasn't like they were bad or anything! They were just weird! ]
I'm going to aim for a peaceful high school life. Act like a normal high school girl. Find a normal boyfriend. Graduate like a normal student and go to college.
HAH! Good luck. You should skip the boyfriend bit and focus on your studies. Getting one will just be a waste of time. [ No, really, says the nerd who hyperfocuss on schoolwork. ] I don't even know why you'd bother.
[ Archer = Mom. So translations. Is Bakugo acting like Hakuno's mother now? ]
Besides, isn't that what a typical high school life is about? Study. Fall in love. Confess to your crush after school. Go on dates. Culture festival. School trips. Then, graduate high school, move away, attend college, get a job, marry, and have kids.
[ Hakuno just listed out the average lifestyle expected from an average person. ]
But I guess you have a point. I don't even know my type yet.
[ There is a look on his face that says: What is wrong with you? ]
No? you go to school to learn and pay attention in class, and get the best grades. EW - - have kids? Whatever, I keep forgetting you're a normie. Maybe that's what normies do.
[ He rolls his eyes, wafting over what her type might be. Bakugo never once thought about dating. Why would he? Thats a situation that would get in the way of his destiny of being a Pro Hero. ] Look the damn train is here, thank god.
[ Hey, don't off dissing the life of a normie! They work hard to achieve this lifestyle! Well, whatever. It was probably impossible to talk about normal student life with Bakugo, who is dead-set on becoming a Hero. ]
Yup, it's what normies do.
[ Now that the train has arrived, that awkward conversation that will be forgotten can end. Even though the station wasn't crowded, the inside of the car was packed. Well, the market was only one stop away, so they could probably endure. It was only going to be 10 minutes. ]
Alright. Let's go. The business should die down when we're done shopping.
[ Okay, here they are. Amidst the train rush - to which, in Bakugo's defense. He had no idea this would occur. ] Why the hell is everyone on the train at this hour?
[ As if implying, the train SHOULD be empty whenever HE HIMSELF gets onto it. He pushes through and immediately looks around for where Hakuno slipped into. ]
[ Wow, it was much more crowded than Hakuno realizes. Maybe this was a mistake, but there was no take back. They were already on a train. Packed with people.
The brunette sighed when she heard Bakugo's voice asking where she was. Without much thought, as if it was the most natural thing to do, Hakuno took his hand. He was easy to spot in a crowd compared to her. Slowly dragging him through the crowd of people and towards the wall.
It was cramped, but Hakuno was petite and skinny enough not to feel uncomfortable. ]
Maybe there's a sale going on? I remember Archer saying that sales at the supermarket have always been a hellish battlefield.
What the hell, don't pull me around however you like!? [ Bakugo had been looking around for her, trying to spot the long locks of hair and dead pan face. However, it had been her who found him and her who dragged him over to where she was. Her back is pressed against the side of the train's inside frame. Bakugo faced her, and some space to breathe between the two of them. ] Absolutely stupid, you should have mentioned that you know before we got in here.
[ Hakuno jabbed Bakugo's stomach at his comment. ]
Do you think I would have known this would happen? It's typically not this busy.
[ She retorted before sighing. She pulled her fist back as if she had done some damage to the explosive boy. Arms crossed as Hakuno looked out the window at whatever she saw. ]
Just deal with it. It's only for ten minutes.
[ It's been a while since they were this close to each other. Hakuno tilted her head as she eyed Bakugo up and down. ]
[ Bakugo shoves her with equal spite after giving a small cough to her swift punching. It's enough to shuffle Hakuno at least forward as she stares out the window. Adjusting them so her back is lined along his chest. Unfortunately, the movements cause the passengers to file in around them, and now he is pressed against her, but Bakugo is using both his palms to line against the glass of the Train and keep himself as far away as he can. ] Fuck, back up!
[ He curses a bit at the person behind him, but minds her comment and says - ]
No, thump because Hakuno was pushed against the wall now. Hakuno doesn't mind being squished by Bakugo. How often did this guy tackle her to the ground when they were kids? How often did they wrestle with each other and fought with each other? Ah, but that was a long time ago. ]
Because I remember clearly that you were still shorter than me.
[ Hakuno said outright. ]
I guess this is what it means when boys hit puberty. You're growing up so fast, you're going to forget about your normie neighbor.
Well, I'm not anymore now - I grew, dimwitt and I'm only going to grow more. So don't act so surprised? Do you not pay attention in your classes? [ His voice is hoarse and clearly rude, as he berates her so closely. Speaking past her ear as she is facing the other way. He is attempting to adjust himself further away from her, but he can't move, and instead, his hips bump behind hers. ]
Hakuno was just bad at listening to people when they talked. It was one of Archer's peeves about Hakuno for a long time. Anyway, enough of that. ]
How is it weird? [ Hakuno almost pouted before sighing, giving up. ] Fine, fine, I won't talk about your height anymore. I didn't realize you were still sensitive about it.
[ Hakuno noticed that Katsuki was trying to keep a distance from Hakuno and not trying to squish her. ]
